Homemade Cinnamon Autumn Applesauce Instant Pot Recipe (No Sugar Added)

I began making Homemade Cinnamon Autumn Applesauce two years ago in the fall with extra apples I had on hand. I loved how it tasted so much fresher and even more flavorful than anything I could buy at the grocery store. My husband really enjoyed it too and asked me to make it again. It’s incredibly easy to whip up and the best part is there’s no added sugar like a lot of the store-bought sauces have!

I was shocked at how little applesauce was made from so many apples! The last two times I have made my Homemade Cinnamon Autumn Applesauce, I used the 3-pound bags of Organic Gala Apples from Costco that run about $5/bag. But you can really use whichever apples you prefer! Apples picked right off the tree at a local Apple Orchard near you would be super delicious too.

Peeling, coring and slicing all of the apples can be a tedious task if you don’t have an All-In-One Apple Tool. I still do not have one in my kitchen, but I will for sure be investing in one soon with this fall tradition I now have!

I recently got an Instant Pot. In the past, I have used my Crockpot to make this Homemade Cinnamon Autumn Applesauce recipe, but this time I switched and used the Instant Pot. I am so glad I decided to try that because I was able to triple and quadruple my batch! In order for my family to enjoy the applesauce a little longer into the coming months, I freeze any extras we don’t devour.

My Homemade Cinnamon Autumn Applesauce recipe has been a huge hit with Bobbi this year. You can see her shoveling it by the spoonful! (And you can also see our two dogs, Brooks and Waylon, waiting for anything she drops.) I hope you enjoy this recipe too!

I quadrupled this recipe and yielded four 32-ounce mason jars + one 16-ounce mason jar of applesauce.
• 3 lbs. of apples – washed, peeled, cored and chopped
• 3/4 cup water
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1 Tbsp. lemon juice from a fresh lemon
• Instant Pot
• All-In-One Apple Tool
1. Wash, peel, core and chop apples. Coring and peeling is the most tedious process to this recipe so I highly recommend an all-in-one apple peeler and corer tool.
2. Add chopped apples, water, lemon juice, and cinnamon stick(s) to Instant Pot.
3. Secure Instant Pot lid and cook on Manual (high pressure) for 5-minutes. Let natural release for 10-minutes.
4. Mash the apple mixture to desired consistency.
5. Transfer the applesauce to a bowl or a mason jar.
6. Enjoy your Homemade Cinnamon Autumn Applesauce warm or cold. Store in the refrigerator for up to 7-10 days, or freeze in a freezer safe container.
