Did September fly by or what?! If you read my September blog, you know that summer is my jam. However, I can’t complain as we are having amazing fall weather. And aside from my kiddos getting strep and hand, foot, and mouth, we’ve overall been having a fabulous start to fall.

I am actually shocked with how fast the month went because my family didn’t have very many plans, except for me traveling to attend the Badass Pilates Collective Training with Tiffany Burke! Keep reading for more on that incredible experience.

Time for a back story! I am a certified Pilates instructor and am classically trained through PEAK Pilates and have been teaching that method for almost a decade now. It has healed my body in so many ways and I absolutely love it. However, it can get repetitive at times, and if you know me, I’ve been around the block when it comes to fitness methods. I miss my gymnastics and CrossFit days… A LOT. As I’m getting older and knowing my body more, there is just no way I can ever get back to that high-impact style of fitness, even though I am missing that workout challenge and variety. Insert, Tiffany Burke.

I have been following Tiffany since 2020 on Instagram and I just love her style and creativity. But it is so different from what I know and how I am trained. So I’ve just slowly been dabbling into adding light weights with clients and trying more of a strength-based Pilates approach. Once I saw Tiffany was hosting a training near me in Rockford, Illinois, I just knew I had to make it happen! I went to her 3 Day HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) Workshop and she lit my world on fire. It brought me back to the first time I ever did Pilates, where my first session completely changed my life. I am so excited to finally have the confidence to make the shift from classical Pilates to contemporary Pilates and am already seeing the results in my clients and getting incredible feedback from them!

Now, I know you’re thinking, high-intensity? Didn’t you just say that your body can’t handle that? Yes! But, when utilizing the classical Pilates foundation and Pilates equipment, everything can STILL be low-impact while getting your heart rate up to your anaerobic threshold to build strength and see changes in the body. I want to clarify, just because I will be teaching contemporary Pilates does not mean it will be high-intensity everyday. I will still teach classical Pilates because it is all about having balance. Your body and mind need both! Looking back, my Pilatesbody Challenge is styled in this high-intensity format, but utilizes bodyweight and props instead of heavy weights. Going forward, you will see these changes in the FREE Pilatesbody On Demand Workout Calendars and the app’s newly released Pilates at-home workouts. Programming for your Free Pilates and Prenatal Pilates Workout Calendars will be 3 days of strength-based, high intensity workouts and the other 3 days will feature your classical mat Pilates and core-focused workouts.

How to Follow the Pilates Workout Calendars

  • Download either the Pilates Workout Calendar PDF or the pregnancy-safe Prenatal Pilates and Yoga Workout Calendar PDF.
  • Subscribe to the PILATESBODY On-Demand App to find all of the workout videos you need for this month’s calendar.
  • PROGRAMMING: The workout calendars are programmed for 6 workouts and 1 recovery/rest day per week and allow for any additional exercise you personally may do on top of Pilates.
  • Do each workout video once and check it off as you go.
  • Each day, the workout classes average about 30-minutes and have a specific focus in mind depending on the day of the week.
  • On the PBOD App, you can search all these classes in the search bar, and click the heart icon to “favorite” each workout for easy access.
  • New workout calendars will be released every month and can be easily downloaded right here on the blog.
