Hey Pilates Queens! 👑
I don’t even like typing, or saying the word, “September”. This month is truly a dramatic turning point season-wise in Minnesota, and I am just a summer girl at heart — Always have, and always will be! However, I am not one to turn down a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I sure do love pumpkin spice flavored anything, but I prefer pool parties, BBQs, and sunshine over flannels, apple orchards, and falling leaves. Fall weather can be very unpredictable in Minnesota. Some years we get a fabulous fall with 70-degree days and sunshine, and other years it’s 50 degrees and rainy for weeks. Then comes daylight savings and the dreaded “white stuff”, snow.
Last winter, I got such an itch to move south. We love Nashville (our son’s named Nash) and have talked about investing in real estate there. But nothing more transpired beyond those thoughts until this year. Like I said, I am a summer girl through and through. I love the heat, and frankly, less is more… Yes, I am referring to clothes, but that is a staple cue I use often when teaching Pilates! I never thought my husband would even entertain the idea of moving south, but he actually did, and I was SHOCKED! The idea of moving has not left my mind, it just hasn’t been at the forefront of my mind currently because it’s been summertime. Now that the seasons are changing, I am starting to think about it again.
I have never lived outside of the Midwest. The furthest I have lived from Minnesota was a hop, skip, and a jump over the Eastern border to Wisconsin for college. I lived there for 4 years, and I vowed to myself and my husband (whom I met in college) that I would never live there again after I graduated! So here we are, living in Minnesota with 2 dogs and 2 kids later.
Have you ever relocated? Specifically, have you ever moved to an area in which you have no family? It would be a HUGE and super scary leap for me (for us). I am absolutely challenged with anything when I comes to stepping out of my comfort zone. If you are reading this and have ever relocated, I would LOVE to hear from you in the comments. Please share your experience and help me muster up the courage to maybe, someday, move me and my family south!
